Tempe, Ariz., (October 23, 2023) – TruLite Health has been selected as an American Hospital Association (AHA) Equity Transformation Partner. This dynamic program is working aggressively to advance health equity in hospitals and health care systems throughout the United States. The AHA is a recognized leader in driving change within health care and TruLite Health is excited to participate in the important work of improving health equity throughout the country.
The AHA has prioritized improving health equity and is providing important strategic direction and practical frameworks to all hospitals and health systems with the launch of their Health Equity Roadmap. This is a national initiative to drive improvement in health care outcomes, health equity, diversity and inclusion.
“The AHA is deeply committed to advancing health equity and the inclusion of new ideas and solutions are critical to continuing to make progress on this important issue,” said Joy A. Lewis, MSW, MPH, senior vice president, health equity strategies and executive director, Institute for Diversity and Health Equity for the American Hospital Association. “TruLite Health’s approach to addressing clinical bias at the point of care is unique in the market and an important component of health equity strategy.”
The challenge of health equity is complex and current methods focused solely on social determinants of health (SDOH) aren’t demonstrating improvement in patient outcomes. The requirement for new thinking and innovative approaches to solving this problem is required and TruLite Health has the research, expertise and experience addressing this critical element impacting health equity missing from most strategies – the impact of systemic clinical bias. TruLite’s research indicates this new approach can be a catalyst to demonstrate improvement of outcomes when coupled with traditional SDOH.
“We are honored to be selected as an American Hospital Association Equity Transformation Partner and appreciate the program’s recognition of our innovative approach to health equity,” said Alan Roga MD, CEO and Founder, TruLite Health. “Our proven ability to deploy an enterprise platform that remediates clinical bias at organizational scale, aligns with AHA’s goals of aggressively advancing innovation and improving outcomes in this important area.”
For health care organizations, making improvements in their health equity strategies will positively impact patient experience, employee engagement, leadership development, service excellence, as well as safety and quality.
