TEMPE, Ariz. (Sept. 2, 2025) – TruLite Health, the developer of the only health equity solution to remediate clinical bias, today announced the promotion of Walter Conwell, MD, MBA, from president to chief executive officer, effective Sept. 1, 2025.
Conwell joined TruLite as president in February 2025. He previously served as chief diversity and inclusion officer and associate dean for faculty development at the Morehouse School of Medicine in Atlanta. He is also a practicing physician and earned his medical degree from the University of Chicago.
“Over the past year, feedback from clients, financial sponsors and other partners affirmed that TruLite Health would be best served by a CEO who brings both a diverse perspective and lived experience aligned with our mission,” said founder and current CEO Alan Roga, MD. “Dr. Conwell is the perfect fit. This is an important milestone in our continued evolution and growth as a health equity company.”
In his role as president, Conwell has led all commercial activities, including client engagement, sales and fundraising. He has also collaborated closely with board members and the product and technology teams. In addition, he has represented the company through thought leadership forums, conference presentations and subject matter expert engagements.
“I’m passionate about advancing health equity and TruLite’s potential to have a transformative impact,” Conwell said. “I look forward to leading our organization into the next phase of this important work.”
As part of the leadership transition, Roga will move into the role of executive chair, where he will focus on board leadership and governance, investor relations and supporting TruLite’s management team as an operating partner.
