We are excited to review some of the important insights from our first annual Health Equity Benchmark Survey eBook. Now available for download, the book answers two compelling questions: who is prioritizing health equity programs and how are they doing it?
In partnership with Becker’s Healthcare, we recently surveyed more than 100 healthcare organizations to find out how they are striving to improve health equity in their communities. Our survey found that:
- Equity is on health systems’ radar and many healthcare professionals are engaged in addressing the issue.
- Health system leaders are feeling increased pressure from their boards, clinicians and communities to demonstrate progress on equity.
- 85 percent of healthcare organizations have deployed or plan to deploy health equity programs.
Although momentum for organization change is growing, there are significant challenges healthcare systems face in solving this important problem. Absent from most responses was a focus on clinical interventions at the point of care, robust analytics and defined success metrics – all are needed to move the needle on this critical issue.
